Amazing 4 Days Chardham Yatra by Helicopter Tour Itinerary

Char Dham Yatra, an annual pilgrimage and a cherished dream of each Hindu devout is inarguably one of the most challenging religious journeys in India where all the four holy pedestals are nestled at huge elevation and extreme locations. Since the shrines are tucked at such huge altitudes and amidst the steep mountain ranges hence it becomes pretty difficult to cover these holy sites especially for the devotees who are not physically and mentally fit.

So, such people who cannot climb on the mountains or cannot take out a week-long time find it difficult to accomplish their dream of embarking on this divine Yatra. However, Chardham Yatra by helicopter service is a boon for such devotees as it is undoubtedly one of the fastest and the most convenient ways to complete this spiritual trip.

Covering the holy sites of Char Dham Yatra is a cherished dream of each Hindu devout and I count myself fortunate and blessed that I got an opportunity to visit the holy shrines of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Yamunotri, and Gangotri.

Before I start sharing my experience of this divine journey, I would like to mention down the reasons that why did I opt for helicopter services. Actually, we were on a group tour of 7 members including 2 senior citizens, so we had to look for the best mode of transportation for their convenience and there is nothing better than helicopter services.

Also, it was very difficult for me to take out 10- or 12-days’ time from my hectic work schedule so it was the best decision overall as it saved a lot of time and physical effort.

My Travel Experience - Chardham Yatra by Helicopter

Chardham Yatra by Helicopter

We started our journey early morning on 18th June from New Delhi Railway Station by boarding a train to Dehradun and when we reached the desired destination, we did check-in to our pre-booked hotel room and stayed overnight in Dehradun only as next morning we had to fly for Yamunotri.

Day 01: Round Way Trip from Dehradun Helipad to Yamunotri

At 7 Am: We were already instructed by our travel agency that we had to reach the helipad by 6:30 in the morning as the first helicopter tour of the day starts at 7 and if we miss that we will have to face the consequences, hence, we decided not to take the risk and reach on time.

At 7:45: After completing 45 minutes of aerial distance we landed at Kharsali Helipad in Yamunotri.

At 8:30: Reached the shrine by covering the left-over distance by Palki (senior citizens) and after completing the puja rituals we moved back to the helipad.

At 2 Pm: We all were hungry by this time, so we had our lunch organized by the travel agency at 2 pm.

At 3:30 Pm: We visited the Shani Temple and then stayed overnight in Kharsali.

Day 02: Moving Towards Gangotri

At 7:45 Am: We started our helicopter ride from the Kharsali helipad.

8:30 Am: Within 45 minutes we reached the Harsil helipad and at 9 we started moving towards the Gangotri Temple (which is almost at a distance of 22 km).

10 Am: We reached the Gangotri shrine by 10 in the morning and after completing all the puja rituals we moved back to Harsil by 11.

1 Pm: We had our lunch scheduled and then decided to go on nature’s walk to explore the surrounding areas. Our night stay was scheduled in Harsil only so after completing the evening walk, we headed towards the hotel for a comfy night stay.

Day 03: Yamunotri to Kedarnath

The third-day schedule started at 9 am from the Harsil helipad and after completing an hour-long journey we arrived at the Kedarnath helipad.

10:30 Am: By 10:30 we reached Kedarnath Dham and did the philosophy of Lord Shiva and then at 1 pm we moved back to Guptkashi as we were scheduled to have our lunch there.

2 Pm: After finishing our lunch we moved towards Triyuginarayan Temple and then spend the rest of the day in leisure and then stayed there overnight.

Day 04: Kedarnath to Badrinath

After checking out from the hotel, we moved towards Guptkashi helipad in Kedarnath, and by 11, we reached Badrinath Dham, the last stopover of the religious journey of the Char Dham circuit. After completing the puja rituals at the shrine, we explored the architecture and the nearby religious places for the pilgrimage.

At 1 Pm: We had our lunch at one of the best and the most hygienic restaurants and after finishing our afternoon meal, we were left with much time so we explored the gorgeous Mana Village and other nearby destinations.

Things to Keep in Mind While Booking Your Char Dham Yatra by Helicopter Tour Package:

Although it’s not my personal experience yet I have heard and read people sharing about the challenges and forgery they faced in booking their helicopter tickets. Just to make you aware of the fraud cases faced by the devotees I would like to share a few of the needed information to escape yourself away from any fraud act.

Always seek the guidance of a reputed and authorized travel agency to avoid any sort of discrepancies on the tour. There are many travel companies in the market which claim to be authorized and loot people. So, you are strictly advised to be wise and alert while selecting your travel agent.

A majority of the fraud cases are witnessed in Kedarnath helicopter ticket bookings, so if Kedarnath is your dream destination this holiday then you need to be more alert and attentive.

The disadvantage of Opting for Helicopter Services

There is no such disadvantage of opting for this helicopter service and the only problem is that it is economical as compared to other modes of transport and rest all is fine.
